Are You a Wanderer of the World?

When I lived in New Jersey, I always wanted to get out. Others had been so content about living in our small town and could never understand my longing for more. When I finally moved to North Carolina at eighteen, I was ecstatic over a whole-nother world to explore. I traveled up and down the state, from mountains to the shore, until I had nowhere left to go. Six years later, I’m ready for a new adventure.

Those who know me, know I’m always planning some new excursion. I love traveling and finding new places to explore. I often look at Airbnb or cruises in my free-time.

I always wondered, why am I like this? Recently my friend told me, “You can’t help it. You have the heart of a wanderer.”

Do you tend to roam? Wonder what else is out there? If you have these 3 traits, you too may be a wanderer.

Can’t Stay Put

My weekends are often jam packed and full of plans. I hate sitting still and doing nothing. I get bored if I’m in the same place for too long. Most people relax by lying back and taking it easy, I can’t relax unless I’m doing something.

Like I said before, I’m always planning my next travels. Wanderers can’t be in one place for too long. They are constantly moving and aren’t confined to limits.

We can not be pinned down to one place.

Don’t find happiness in material things

I’ve tried to distract myself with many things and found momentary happiness in material items but they never brought me true joy.

Wanderers are happiest when traveling. When they are exploring an unknown place and finding new experiences. They are not interested in possessions but rather memories.

Break the rules

A wanderer’s soul absolutely hates being controlled! They hate direction and rules. Wanderers are very head-strong and play by their own rules.

We can not be held down or held back. When we have an idea or calling —we go for it! We are the go-getters of our society.

When we’re told, “you can’t”… our response is “watch me”.

Do you have the call for adventure? What is stopping you?

Love this! While I don’t mind being at home, I’m with you on not being able to stand doing nothing. I have to be doing some sort of activity! And definitely love traveling – I’m just broke right now haha so trips are few and far between!

This!! This post is like my soul on a page! “When we’re told, “you can’t”… our response is “watch me”.” YES!! I have lived in Orlando my entire life and my heart is longing to get out of here (even if just for a bit). It may be one of the top vacation destinations of the world, but I have seen it and done it and I need to go “see and do” everything else! I try to travel as often as I can, but we are working on getting on the road full-time. Or at least heading West to explore out there as much as we can from a set location! Good luck on finding your next spot to explore!!

I currently have a travel link up going on and this post would make a great addition if you want to join in on the fun 🙂

    Happy Saturday!
